Assortment of Framing Projects - 2019
Using an Old Technique
French matting, a hand painted line on the matting, was a popular technique during the 1800's. It can often be found on old engravings and botanical prints. This particular print had come in with it original matting which had become discoloured and worn. We replaced it with a new acid-free option and picked a frame that had a traditional look. By switching the materials, the piece will now be properly preserved while keeping the same aesthetic. |

Whimsical Woodland Animals Illustration
Often simple designs are timeless. This bright white mat provides separation between the illustration and frame while adding a subtle bevel line around the opening. The natural frame picks up the hares' coat colour perfectly and gives a refined woodsy feel. This particular piece is for a child's room; the simple design chosen will remain contemporary for years to come.
